Lesson 3: Have / Has / Had

Learn possession and completed actions.

1. What are they?

"Have", "has", and "had" are verbs used in two main ways:

  • Main verb → possession (I have a car)
  • Helping verb → completed actions (I have finished)

2. Why do we use them?

  • To show ownership → I have a car
  • To show completed actions → I have finished

3. When do we use each one?

Have

I / You / We / They

Has

He / She / It

Had

Past (all subjects)

4. How do we use them?

Possession:

  • I have a book
  • She has a car
  • They have a house

Completed actions (Perfect tense):

Subject + have/has + past participle

  • I have eaten
  • She has finished
  • They have gone

⚠️ Important Rule

After have / has, use past participle.

✔ I have gone

❌ I have went
