Past tense is used to describe actions that have already happened.

3. When do we use it?

  • Yesterday
  • Last week
  • Last year
  • Earlier today

4. How is it formed?

Regular verbs:

Add -ed

  • work → worked
  • play → played

Irregular verbs:

  • go → went
  • eat → ate
  • see → saw

⚠️ Important Rule

Past tense means the action is finished → the verb must change form.

✔ I went home

❌ I go yesterday
